Drum Circle
with Rhythm Calls

Rhythm making, drumming, movement and sounding for wellbeing. Always a hugely popular workshop, and so relaxing!
A 90 minute workshop.

Shanty Singing with the Auckland Shanty Singers

Find Your Sea Legs Shanty Workshop - learn some easy singalong shanties and share in the joy of group singing. Ahoy me hearties!

Regency Dancing
with Regency Rejigged

Release your inner Darcy or Elizabeth and learn dances from the 17th and 18th centuries in a fun relaxed session.

Have a go at some traditional step clog routines from the north of England, possibly including hornpipe steps, waltzes and jigs...

DIY Folk Dance
with Rhythm Calls

If you love dancing and creativity this one’s for you. Work with the brilliant Filo Ianni to devise an original folk dance and then perform it at the Castle on Monday. 2 x 90 minute sessions.

Tarantella
with Rhythm Calls

A taste of Tammurriata, a form of tarantella from Campania in the South of Italy -danced in pairs of any age and gender, vibrant, colourful and fun!

Plus if you love singing, there’s the Scratch Messiah with the Richmondshire Choral Society…

Richmondshire Choral Society invites singers, regardless of experience, to join us in a Come & Sing Messiah performance in St. Mary’s Church, Richmond on Saturday 3 May. Scores will be available and you can attend as much or as little as you like of:

11.30 - 1pm: Vocal technique and Messiah Workshop led by Valerie Danby, opera and concert soloist and the first opera singer to perform on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury. Bring a packed lunch and drinks.

2pm-5pm: Rehearsal with soloists and the RCS musical director Ben Noble.

7.30pm: The performance!

The whole day costs £15 for non-members of the RCS - available here in March.

Tickets for the evening performance cost £12, or £10 for DL9, DL10 and DL11 residents - available here in March.

You are also welcome to join the RCS at their rehearsals for the event on Monday 7, 14 &; 28 April in the Methodist Church, Dundas Street, Richmond at 7.30 pm. This costs £5 per rehearsal, paying on the door. (Or you could of course join the Choir!)
