1.    These terms and conditions relate to your Application to participate and potential Participation in a talent competition on Friday 2nd May 2025. By making an Application to Participate in the Talent Show, you acknowledge and agree to abide by the rules, regulations, terms and conditions for this competition.

2.    Participants must be aged 13 or older (at the time of application) and live in the DL9, DL10 or DL11 postcode areas.

3.    If you are under 18 years of age, you must get the permission of your parents or legal guardians before applying. Applications for Participants under the age of 18 years (or for groups involving any such Participants) can be submitted only with the express consent of an adult entitled to represent their rights as detailed on the online Application form. If you are under 18 years of age you must similarly be accompanied by at least one parent or legal guardian at the Talent Show. One free adult ticket will be supplied.

4.    Applications must be made online at www.richmondmayfest.org. Applications close on Friday 18th April 2025 at 23:59 GMT.

5.    All Applications must be accompanied by a short video as detailed in the online Application Form. By sending in your audition video you are agreeing that you own the rights to the footage sent and that everyone who is visible in the film has given their permission for it to be used. You agree to Richmond MayFest using your supplied video and any video taken at the event for future promotion of Richmond MayFest; in the case of the latter you will be asked to approve the specific footage and have the right to refuse.

6.    The completion of an Application does not guarantee that an applicant will Participate in the competition. If your Application is successful, you will hear back from us no later than Friday 25th April 2025. We will then send you further details of your Participation in the Talent Show.

7.    The Producer, its agents and sub-contractors do not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any online applications, telephone networks, line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any applications not being properly received.

8.    If you are experiencing problems with the online application form, please contact the Richmond MayFest team by email.

9.     Any applications received after the closing date will not be considered.

10. The Talents on show will comprise singing, dance, instrumental music, drama, magic, comedy, juggling. Recorded accompanying music is not permitted without prior clearance from the Talent Show Committee. Any other Talents not listed here should be approved with the Talent Show Committee before application. Pyrotechnics are strictly forbidden in all cases.

11. The recommended length for an act is 3 minutes; acts must be no more than 5 minutes.

12. Maximum number of participants in an act is 5.

13. In all cases, decisions of the Judges are final and will not be open to discussion.

14. Absolutely no profanity or insensitive subject matter will be permitted and all performances will be screened for appropriateness by the Talent Show Committee. Costumes must be appropriate for all age groups. This is a community event.

15. Participants are responsible for their own props, costumes and equipment. All acts will use the electrical amplification equipment supplied for the event by Richmond MayFest.

16. All personal details and/or information given in your Application must be truthful, accurate and in no way misleading. The Talent Show Committee reserves the right to disqualify you if you have supplied untruthful, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information, have failed to abide by the Rules and/or are in breach of the terms given here.

17. The Talent Show Committee comprises the MayFest Trustees.

18. There will be prizes given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. 

19. Data Protection. The MayFest Trust takes your privacy seriously. The information you provide about yourself as part of the application procedure will be used by the Talent Show Committee to assess whether or not to select you for the Talent Show. If you are selected aspects of this information may be used in connection with the production and promotion of the competition, as indicated on the Application Form. By submitting the Application Form you consent to such information being used for these purposes.
